Pink High Heels

For some unknown reason, I decided to watch “The Exorcist” last night. Why, after going almost 26 years without ever watching it, would I submit myself to that movie is beyond me. Needless to say, the movie resulted in keeping me up all night with nightmares, so I’m exhausted today! I even went and slept in one of my vacant units on my lunch break! Good thing I (very randomly) had an extra pillow in my car! =)

As I stated yesterday, I’m a big fan of country music.. especially Rascal Flatts. Well today while I was driving into work I heard their new song “Here”, and some of the lyrics really hit me.

Now, obviously I haven’t found that love yet, but these lyrics really got me thinking about how badly I’m ready to find it. By no means do I feel that I’m old, but the fact that I’ll be 26 in just a few months and am still 100% completely single doesn’t always sit so well with me. And honestly, it doesn’t help that my baby brother is engaged, and my younger sister is in a committed relationship with a man that she has a son with.

And I don’t want to just find a boyfriend. I could have a boyfriend easily if that’s all I really wanted. I’m ready to find my partner. I’m established in my career, secure in who I am, and am ready to start that next chapter in my life. I’m ready for lazy Sunday’s eating pizza and watching the game cuddled up on the couch, for someone to be at home waiting and excited to hear about my great (or horrible) day at work, for someone to reach for my hand as we’re crossing the street and to guide me through rooms with his hand at the small of my back.

The small things… that’s what I want and what I’m ready for.

This last week has been a complete nightmare for me! I’m not going to go into huge details right now, I just don’t have the energy to, but I’ll give you a quick recap.

In one week I had my car towed and had to pay $400 to get it out, had my car battery die and had to replace it, got in a fight with my best friend, hosted a going away 80’s themed party at my house, and found out that the wedding that I’ve been planning for my brother has been moved from May in Hawaii to March in Texas…. I get to start the planning process all over again! Joy =) And sadly.. that’s not even everything that happenned.

*Sidenote.. can someone please educate me on how to do links? I have looked at the help page over and over again and can not get it to work! I swear I’m not an idiot!

MY FAVORITE THINGS

1. Clothes shop – I love New York & Co. and Express. That’s wear I get most of my work clothes. I also love Target and Old Navy though. Cute clothes for cheap!

2. Furniture shop – I love Pottery Barn and West Elm!

3. City – So far? San Diego! The weather is gorgeous, the houses are amazing, and there are good looking men in uniforms everywhere =)

4. Sweets – There are so many sweets that I love! Anything chocolate, pumpkin bread w/cream cheese frosting, cheesecake… and the list goes on!

5. Drink – I drink mostly water, Dr. Pepper, and sweet tea.

6. Music – I love music and listen to so many different bands! I love Randy Rogers Band, Eli Young Band, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Rascall Flats and Keith Urban for country. I also love Damien Rice, Ray LaMontague, Iron and Wine and Jason Mraz.

7. TV – I’ve got a pretty long list for this as well. Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Army Wives, The Hills, One Tree Hill, Ace of Cakes, almost anything on the History Channel, and I’ve recently become addicted to Intervention on A&E.

8. Film – I’m a sucker for any Disney film.. but my favorites are Cinderella, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, and the Fox and the Hound. I also love with Audrey Hepburn.. epsecially Sabrina, Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. A few of my other favorites are Casablanca, Sweet Home Alabama, Mean Girls, and The Philadephia Story.
9. Workout – I do a work out video at home a couple of times a week. My favorites are the pilates or any boot camp video.

10. Pastries – Do the Cranberry Bliss Bars from Starbucks count?

11. Coffee – I am currently addicted to the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks… but in a few weeks I’ll switch the Peppermint Mocha. I love holiday drinks =)

“Becks is… thinking about someone special”.

Are you kidding me? That’s what Beck’s stupid status is on Myspace. That right there is exactly why I hate being a girl! I’ve been doing just fine with the end of this relationship until I see that. Why is it that I see this and automatically start getting upset because I’m obviously not the “someone special” he’s thinking about. We broke up four days ago! Because you aren’t ready for a relationship?!?! Ugh…

Apparently my gut is still pretty in tune with what is going on with my life. I had been feeling as if there was this growing distance between Becks and I lately, and yesterday my feelings were confirmed.

I went to his house yesterday after work to hang out before I went to dinner. Well we decided to sit outside because it was so nice out and he starts the conversations saying “So I really wanted you to come over today so we could talk. About us.” No lead in necessary apparently =) From there he went on to say that while he enjoyed seeing me and spending time with me, he just wasn’t interested in starting a relationship with me right now. He’s going through a divorce, so he just doesn’t think he’s ready. Thankfully I had suspected that this was the case for a little while now, so it really wasn’t much of a surprise. We talked for about 45 minutes (he insisted on dragging this out and explaining everything.. twice!), and then I left to go to dinner with friends. He supposed to be at a birthday party I’m going to tonight, so hopefully it won’t get awkward.

I did discover last night that none of my friends liked me with him though. They all thought that I could do better and that they couldn’t see us lasting for any long amount of time because of our huge personality differences. Why no one said anything before last night, I don’t know!

Enough about the stupid boy… this weekend looks like it’s going to be super busy! Tonight I have that birthday party, tomorrow is the TX/OU Football game (Go Longhorns!!), then after the game I have a wedding. Then on Sunday my roommate and best friend is being baptized, so we’ll be at church most of the morning. Definitely not a weekend that I’ll get to sleep in at all! Hmm.. maybe I’ll meet some new potentials at the wedding on Saturday???

So I officially stink as a blogger! My last post was in what.. August? That’s ridiculous! I’m just going to do a quick bullet style post today to update, but will resume regular posting tomorrow =)

~ I’m still dating the boy, Becks. Things have been kind of weird lately… almost like he’s trying to pull back a little bit. We’ve only been dating 2 months though, so I’m trying not to worry about it. We’ll actually be seeing each other tonight and tomorrow night, so hopefully I’m just being a girl thinking he’s pulling back =)

~ I’ve decided not to leave my current job. I had been looking for about a month and even went on a couple of interviews but ultimately decided that I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity right now. Plus I played hard ball with the owners and convinced them to do 100% tuition reimbursement!

~ I am 100% loving fall! Granted, I live in Texas, so fall hasn’t really hit yet but football season definitely has! Plus cooler weather means cute sweaters and boots and I can’t wait to break them out!

~ Oh! I had a random mini-celeb sighting a couple of weeks ago. I was out for Becks birthday and I notice a guy that looks familiar standing a couple of people down from me at the bar. I take a closer look and it’s Brian from The Bachelorette! Being the goofy girl that I am, I just had to go up to him and get a picture.

As cute as he his.. he’s a bit of a jerk. I was rather disappointed!
